Friday 7th December
£1.10 juice + £1.30 sandwich + £3.00 coffee & cake + £0.50 juice + £2.50 falafel = £8.40.
Though today’s modest total was helped considerably by (free) gallery openings with (free) drinks, it was hindered by spending too long in the lab and requiring quick, local nourishment.
Wednesday 5th December
I spent a further £8 on foodstuffs and eventually came up with this:

Fajitas filled with roasted, spiced butternut squash, onion, sweetcorn, bell peppers and courgette with jalapeno nachos, guacamole, tomato salsa etc etc….. lots of left overs.
Tuesday 4th December
Today I spent £10.61 at Lidl on ingredients for tomorrow’s house dinner. I’ll post a picture of the relevant foodstuffs once they have been sculpted into something more aesthetically appealing than a pile of groceries.
Monday 3rd December
I haven’t written about or kept track of anything for almost a week. Partially because I was sick and spending a lot of time asleep, partly because I was busy in the lab, and also partially because Russell was visiting,
In the week i’ve spent about £450 I think. I exchanged it for a wide variety of things including:
- rent
- Phone credit
- Tickets for The Darjeeling Limited and Drawing Restraint 9
- A ticket to see Akron Family, though I didn’t make it to the show.
- A new hat and new mittens, to replace losses.
- multiple meals and many groceries including a lot of soup, vegan fajitas, and the ingredients for apple cake.
- A few cans of Grafen Walder and a bottle of cheap Pinot Grigio.
- tumble drying of my sheets and towels
- subway and train tickets
- many beers, juices and coffees.
I’m going to have a totally frugal few weeks now because my student loan is almost all gone.
